For today, we discussed G-mail and Google Maps!

Yahoo! is still my primary e-mail. I have so many accounts registered under it which is why it is hard for me to switch or discard it. Though I do own a Gmail too even way back.

I created my Gmail for one reason: to have a YouTube account. Back then, YouTube was its own company, therefore, any e-mail could be used to register in the site. When I wanted to create an account though, Google already bought YouTube and one has to sync his/her Gmail to have a YouTube account. I didn't have a Gmail back then and I really wanted an account so...

You might think my Gmail is dead because I only made one for YouTube, but nope. Google also bought Blogspot! Heh. Way to go buying the sites I frequently use, Google.

Years later, Gmail became a necessity for IT 1. I also had to make a blog for laboratory class (Shoutout to Sir Jason Obrero!). It was also a requirement to write a post every meeting we had. I also passed my projects for the lecture class through Gmail (Shoutout to Sir Koy Lapitan!). Gmail was most useful for Google Docs. Never before was file sharing spontaneous, convenient, and immediate. I swear, Google Docs is amazing and a life-saver.

Gmail has its advantages. I only realized today that Gmail IS spam-free. I shake my head every time I open my Yahoo! account and look at the spam folder. I get a junk load of e-mails about porn stars, viagra, condoms, and stuff I don't care about from different people I don't even know. Despite the restriction to send .exe files, I think it's really clean of Google to avoid spam.

I too use Google Maps particularly when I want to travel from one destination to another. It's been a while since I used it and, woah. I didn't know there was a new Google Maps. The design is so much better and the options are more wide. It is definitely more handy than the old one.
